Hope has breath..
Wasn’t it wonderful when we could all meet again, after the lockdowns? Do you still celebrate that time with friends? We do too. A time to talk, share, reflect, laugh – where hope does indeed have breath.
The image of coffee pots and cups was drawn into the clay and the words added with our letter stamps, then the picture was put to dry, with plasterboard keeping it flat. Once we had enough dry work , the kiln was carefully loaded and fired to 1000 degrees. A day or two later, the picture was glazed, with black underglaze used to pick out the lines then detailed colour added to the pot and cups, bringing them to life. The picture was then glazed again to 1240 degrees, and after two more days of kiln cooling, the picture was given its bespoke frame.
The words are from a poem by Chris and framed, the picture is 18cm square – made with love, thinking about those good chats over coffee..
