Michaela has always loved drawing hands and extends this into the clay. This is a drawing made using her own outstretched hands, drawn into the clay with the words added around them. It’s a beautiful concept that we can pass on grace as we go through our day. We love to share these thoughts and expressions with you.
Once the lettering was complete, the picture was put to dry and kept flat with plasterboard. When that and other artworks were dry enough, they were carefully placed in the kiln and fired to 1000 degrees. It takes a day for the kiln to cool but then
Framed, this ceramic artwork is 18.5cm square. The hands were drawn into the clay while wet, and the words added in, then once dried and fired, the colour was added. The piece was then fired again and framed, for you.
