Description
Here, with our beautiful imperfections, we make a stand..
These are words from a recent poem by Chris. Michaela wanted to reflect the beauty of body shape and the joining together of lives and chose to do this with soft glazes and sweeping lines. Together, we make that stand.
The lines were drawn in and the letters stamped into the stoneware clay square, before the picture was dried, then fired to 1000 degrees. Once fired, we added black underglaze to pick out the lines and letters, then the soft blue and green glazes were added and the picture was fired again to 1240 degrees. It’s two days before the kiln cools enough to open and then Chris made the bespoke frame, which measures 19.5cm square.
A lot of love goes into these pictures!
