Small framed ceramic picture featuring a farm set in a hillside.
Above our house, the hills have been taken over by forestry plantations. Before the trees were planted, it was mostly farmland, and the farm houses are still there, hidden and ruinous. One farm in particular always captures the imagination. There is no sign of the track that once carried its inhabitants home. It has no roof, but in one of the buildings an old iron bedspread still stands. The views from its empty front door are stupendous. This little picture is our tribute to this farm and those who made their lives there.
The picture features nails embedded in slabs of clay, glazed in deep colours.
The hand made frame is 13cm sqare and is painted dark grey then waxed.
