Description
This is a dramatic piece for a dramatic poem by Chris
This shrinking down
From adult to tiny child
As the tentacles of night
Enfold us
Is like a passage from this place
To another
It is the terror in need of a mother
It is the foxhole we share
With each other
The lettering was done and the moon was cut out while the clay was wet, then once fired, the glaze was added, including a lava glaze on the moon and on the top two-thirds of the artwork, a rich blue glaze peppered with soft blue-green crystals. The moon was glazed separately with a lava glaze to create the surface texture.
The artwork measures 29.5cm x 34.5cm and is 4cm deep.
